MTX designed this amplifier with the outdoors rider in mind. They use a coated circuit board and sealed control covers to protect the internal electronic components from corrosion. The power; ground; and signal wires dont have to connect directly to the amplifier; providing an extra layer of protection against mud; dirt; and water.
